How we get to this number
Three steps. No hidden formulas.
Cylinder component
We apply Table A in brackets based on engine cc. Hybrids get a 40% reduction; PHEV 25%; electrics exempt.
Table A · Art. 7 CISVCO₂ component
We apply WLTP Table B. The bracket depends on fuel and CO₂ value. NEDC-only vehicles are converted by AT first.
Table B · Art. 7 CISVUsed reduction
Used vehicles get a percentage reduction by month-bracket since first registration. Applied separately to each component.

ISV (Imposto sobre Veículos) is the one-off tax due in Portugal when a vehicle is introduced into circulation — i.e. when registered here. It has two components: cylinder (Table A) and environmental (Table B).
Don’t confuse it with VAT (already paid in the other member state, not owed again) or IUC (annual circulation tax).
A percentage reduction by month-bracket since first registration, applied separately to the cylinder and CO₂ components. Cumulative effect: by year 10 both components carry ~70% reductions.
AT may require conversion of the NEDC CO₂ value to WLTP before applying Table B. The calculator flags this case with a warn chip. Manual review is free and non-binding.
PHEVs with Euro 6e (not 6e-bis) may be reclassified by AT — in some cases losing the reduced-Table-B benefit. We flag this on the dashboard and review before filing the DAV.
You don’t have to. You can go to SFA2 yourself — by registering a company or going in person. Matriculix runs the full cycle for €399, with no counters and no scheduling. State fees pass through at cost.
It’s an estimate. The final number is set by AT when the DAV is processed. Our estimates have been tracking within 1–3% — we’ll publish the metrics after launch.
