Terms of Service

Interim version. These terms describe how the service works today. The binding legal wording — including liability and governing-law clauses — is being finalised with our lawyer-partner before launch.

1. About Matriculix

Matriculix Unipessoal Lda is a Portuguese company that helps you legalise an EU-origin car in Portugal. Matriculix is a tool and a guide: it prepares the documents, the data and the ISV calculation and runs and tracks the workflow for the legalisation steps — DAV, ISV, matrícula, registo automóvel, inspection and plates. Under a signed procuração, you appoint the partner lawyer as your designated representative to carry out those steps before the authorities on your behalf.

Matriculix is not a despachante oficial and not a lawyer, and is not your mandatária or representative. Your designated representative is the partner lawyer, who holds the procuração and carries out the regulated work. We do not give legal or tax advice.

2. Our Role

We estimate your ISV from the current statutory tables, prepare the documents and the data, and coordinate and track the process while the partner lawyer files under your procuração; we keep you updated throughout. We act on the instructions you give us; we do not decide your tax liability — that is set by the Autoridade Tributária (AT).

3. Fees

Our service fee is €399 fixed. State fees — ISV, registo, inspection, plates — are passed through to you at cost; we do not mark them up. You will see the breakdown before you commit.

4. Timing

We commit to filing within an agreed window of receiving your signed procuração and the documents we need. Response times from AT, IMT, IRN and AIMA are outside our control — we cannot promise an authority’s turnaround, only our own filing cadence.

5. Your Responsibilities

Provide accurate vehicle details and the documents we request
Sign the procuração with the required signature recognition
Pay state fees as they fall due
Keep your contact details up to date so we can reach you

6. Our Accountability

Matriculix is contractually accountable for errors directly attributable to us in preparing the documents, the data and the ISV calculation and in coordinating the process, and this contractual indemnity is backed by professional indemnity insurance. This is a contractual commitment — not a transfer of your statutory liabilities to Matriculix.

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. (Final dispute-resolution wording is under review with our lawyer-partner.)
